Fossils and Revival

How fossil digging works, where each fossil can be found, and how to restore fossil Pokemon.

Fossils In PokeOne

Fossil Pokemon are not wild spawns. You obtain them through a two-step loop:

  1. Use /dig at an eligible excavation route or cave.
  2. Use /restore while carrying a fossil item and keeping one team slot open.

This system is meant to keep fossil Pokemon fairly rare. Most dig attempts will give buried treasure instead of a fossil.

/dig

/dig only works at specific excavation spots. It has a 30 minute cooldown between attempts.

  • Most successful digs give useful treasure items.
  • Fossils are a low-chance result.
  • If you dig up a fossil, the command tells you which Pokemon it can be revived into.

Current Dig Routes

Location Fossils
Mt. Moon Helix Fossil, Dome Fossil
Route 4 Helix Fossil, Dome Fossil
Rock Tunnel Old Amber
Route 10 Old Amber
Route 111 Root Fossil, Claw Fossil
Route 206 Skull Fossil, Armor Fossil
Relic Castle Cover Fossil, Plume Fossil
Glittering Cave Jaw Fossil, Sail Fossil
Kalos Route 9 Jaw Fossil, Sail Fossil

/restore

/restore turns a fossil item into a fossil Pokemon immediately.

Current rules:

  • Costs 25,000 PokéDollars
  • Has a 24 hour cooldown
  • Consumes the fossil item
  • Requires at least one empty team slot
  • Revives the Pokemon directly into your active team

If your team is full, empty a slot first with your normal team management commands before trying again.

Practical Tips

  • Use /dig whenever the cooldown is up if you are targeting fossil completion.
  • Keep one team slot open before using /restore, or the revival will fail.
  • Check the Pokédex for fossil species if you want the route list in-game. Fossil entries now show the exact dig locations.
